Philosophers gathered on the 22nd May to participate in the annual CEP workshop.
It was an excellent day of philosophical talks and discussion.
Sheffield PGRs produced excellent poster presentations, as here viewed by centre members Dr Jim Chamberlain and Dr Megan Blomfield.
Dr Nikhil Venkatesh (Sheffield, Leverhulme ECF) presents his paper ‘Consequentialism on the Picket Lines’.
Dr Tareeq Jalloh (Oxford) presents his work on ‘Violence, Rhymes and Double Binds’.
Dr Jim Chamberlain (Sheffield) presented on ‘Philosophy in Prisons: the Value of Philosophical Conversations’.
Dr Leonie Smith (Lancaster) presented her work on ‘Class and Education’
Dr Sarah Moth-Lund Christensen, from Sheffield’s Centre for Machine Intelligence, presented her work on ‘AI and the Puzzle of Control’.
The day was very well attended, and excellent philosophical discussions were stimulated by the talks: networks were developed and consolidated. It was a successful event!
