Abstracts are solicited in particular from MA, PhD students, and Early Career Researchers in Philosophy.
The University of Sheffield will host the next meeting of the White Rose Practical Philosophy Network on 18 December.
As per the highly successful inaugural meeting of the network in June, which brought together researchers from Leeds, Sheffield, and York, there will be a masterclass session in the morning, before parallel sessions of submitted talks for the rest of the day. The topic of the masterclass will be “Responsibility Practices”.
We invite abstracts of roughly 500 words from postgraduate students (MA and PhD) and faculty (with preference given to early career researchers) in all areas and topics of metaethics, normative ethics, applied and practical ethics, aesthetics, and social and political philosophy, including historical work in these areas. Selected talks will be delivered in a friendly, supportive set of afternoon sessions, with talks around 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes’ Q&A.
You do not need to have a full paper written up! Postgraduate students (both speakers and participants) will be able to access some funding for travel.
Please email abstracts to ben.davies@sheffield.ac.uk by Monday 3 November, 2pm.
We aim to communicate the program by the final week of November.
Those who want to register for the event (whether or not you intend to submit/have submitted an abstract) can do so here: https://forms.gle/FBeNEHzCuHBAYCSD6
